Here is a creative music video directed by Spookie Daly for the Alligator Records act, JJ Grey & Mofro and his song titled On Fire from his album titled Orange Blossoms.
JJ Grey generally delivers songs and music videos that a little different from each other. This video consists of a very funky song with Barbie and Ken dolls as the actors in the music video.

A girl walking with emotionally sensitive depth in the now, Trixie Whitley does it her way. Her music is grounded in authenticity so rare in this age of manufactured talent shows and misguided stardom. Whitley's pure soul is so deep it transcends & forgets genres, in her minimalist state with just her and her guitar or piano, or with a full band and/or studio recording.
Favorite recordings of Ms. Whitley's may indeed be her raw unpolished live takes with one mic and a guitar. They kill you every time with her uncontrived way of laying it down that takes listeners all the way there to feel it. But her studio versions are masterful works, such as this one below. It is definitely one of the top new videos of 2012, if not THE top new video for those who seek not the most popular. but most soulful., It's been spinning on repeat for the entire month, both the live and studio versions of the same song.
Trixie Whitley - Breathe You In My Dreams (Directed by Anton Coene)
Without ever seeing the above video, as when I first heard a stripped down version song off her album of live recordings, I fell in love with it immediately, not knowing it's a live recording until hearing the applause at the end, made it even more appetizing, because one realizes this is as raw as it gets and it's a most beautiful performance. Below is one of those typical live raw live performances... although the recording seems to be raw and unpolished from a camera mic, she transcends the sonic limitations.
Breathe You In My Dreams (Live at Rockwood Music Hall)
I will never forget the first time I heard Ayo and how stoked I was. I posted her song titled Life is Real on MusicLoad: http://www.musicload.com/2009/02/ayo-life-is-real.html and to this day still can't get enough of this artist.
She is from Lagos Nigeria, but has lived all over the world including Germany, France, the U.S. and other places.
Her repertoire of songs is vast with a great many of them being tear jerking ballads. She comes off as being very sensitive, usually laying her heart out on the table.
This video and song below was released in France by her label and never was promoted in the U.S. The director of the video was Pietro Di Zanno.
The song is a departure from her more sensitive ballads and songs. It's a grooving pop song that, because perhaps of the range she sings in and some of the phrasing, conjures up thoughts of early Michael Jackson when he was part of the Jackson 5.

Nneka is one of the most important rising artists to hear and watch, now and into the future. In having conversations with her once when she was in LA, came to realize how deeply thoughtful Nneka is in terms of truth, love, justice for all mankind from heavy issues like political corruption, crony capitalism that exposes itself as corporatist ruination of resource centers. Nneka being from Lagos, Nigeria in the oil rich Niger Delta region of Africa, is all to familiar with life's harsh realities for those in her homeland. The gulf of Mexico oil spill the U.S. faced in 2010 is really, truly nothing.... compared to decades of such never ending raping and pillaging of the Lagos region by global energy cartels.
Nneka never names names of the crooks, the corrupt politicians that she often alludes to in her music. But if one digs deep into her music and play her songs dozens of times, like true fans do, one peels off the layers that exposes Nneka's depth.
She is only one of a small handful of artists with a most powerful global sound who sings about many things important. That's why she is one to watch, for those who seek to think for revolutionary change for the betterment of not only one's own country, but the world.

This first song is the one that put Theresa Andersson on the MusicTelevision.Com map several years ago. Using creative techniques to loop her voice into layers of harmonies along with drum and guitar sounds, Ms. Andersson and her one woman band has an inspired & contagious sound that transcends this grainy fixed angle webcam style video & low-fi audio recording. This is all live, with no overdubs or post production... right in her own New Orleans kitchen.
Theresa Andersson - Birds Fly Away
Theresa's latest 2012 album departs from the above style of loops. In the video below, a woman receives a mysterious invitation to an enchanted music box. It was filmed in the upper 9th ward/Bywater Neighborhood and at Dithyrambalina, New Orleans LA.
Theresa Andersson - Street Parade
And below are more inspired performances of Theresa and her one woman band, live at Le Petit Theatre in the French Quarter, New Orleans. A very entertaining DVD of the entire night's performance is available at this link inside her website.
Here is what we mean when we think someone's music has that "it" thing:
Just below is a classic video clip of a rising artist known as Avery*Sunshine when she was working out her song titled I've Got Sunshine. This simple one or two mic recording in a rehearsal room and shot on one fixed angle camcorder captures the true essence of Ms. Sunshine: Her songwriting process, her soul and her inspired and true indie spirit. The studio version of the song has had success on influential radio stations worldwide and we were happy to even hear the studio version being piped in while sunning on the pool deck at Loews Hotel. Top hotels are now known as top curators of music to create the right vibe for their guests. So, that is a feather in Sunshine's cap.

Amandla - Festival of Unity, was a music festival held July 21, 1979, at Harvard Stadium in Boston, Massachusetts. The theme and unity was between those who supported and celebrated the liberation of South Africa and also those who supported the on-going efforts of people in Boston to end racism locally, on the streets, within schools, places of work and within families.
This performance of Bob Marley and The Wailers is fantastic! There is a introduction by activist, Dick Gregory, that is peppered with political and social talk regarding issues of that moment in time. It's a piece of history that is classic if you are one of Dick Gregory's many fans. The music starts at the 15 minute 33 Second point.
Bob Marley & The Wailers - Full Concert 1hr 49 minutes
Nneka is only one of a handful of modern emerging artists who really has been consistent in the substance arena, in terms of activism and enlightenment on all levels, akin to Bob Marley if you will.
Nneka - Africans
Nneka - Shining Star
Nneka - The Uncomfortable Truth
Nneka - Do you love me now (live session @ streets of Paris)
Allen Stone - Unaware (live from his mother's living room)
Live performance and interview at one of the greatest indie radio stations on the planet, KEXP-FM. Stone performs five songs: What I've Seen at 0:38, Contact High at 3:22, Interview at 6:27, Unaware at 14:00, and Satisfaction at 20:00.
It may not sound complete on all stereo systems. It was sound designed for clubs or those with big power amps and deep bass in their speaker arrays. However, sounds great with headphones, just don't have the volume too loud before pressing play or you may blow your ears out ;) Enjoy!
Music Television is pleased to present great live performance of Sly & The Family Stone, live. This is not a lip sync, it's really live playing & singing! Enjoy!
